Spitzmaus Mummy in a Coffin and other Treasures
Now on - Apr 28, 2019

This unique exhibition is a selection of more than 400 items from the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna's vast historical collection, curated by none other than Hollywood and indie superstar director Wes Anderson, and his partner, the writer and illustrator Juman Malouf.

Particular attention was given to the museum's storage - more than 350 of the exhibits have been brought from depots, with many of them on public display for the very first time. Among them are Egyptian, Greek, and Roman antiquities; Old Master paintings, selections from the Kunstkammer and the Imperial Treasury, items from the Imperial Armoury, Coin Collection, and Collection of Historic Musical Instruments, and more.

This is a very special exhibition not to be missed by anyone wishing to get a deeper look into what inspires the creativity of Wes Anderson or Juman Malouf.

Insider tip

The building's twin, located directly across Maria-Theresien-Platz, is the Naturhistorisches Museum (Natural History Museum). It was opened at the same time as Kunsthistorisches Museum and is well worth a visit if you aren't all museumed out.

Okos dolog volt előre megváltani a jegyeket a belépésre és az időponthoz kötött aktuális kiállításra. Minden flottul ment, elkerültük a hosszas sorbanállást. Egy probléma maradt, hogy így is túl sokan voltunk, nehéz volt hozzáférni a képekhez.
